Please note that for every apartment you rent you have to give a guarantee deposit which often equal one month rent, in addition of the first month of rent and the real estate agency fee.

You can apply online for a room from any of these residence HERE ( Please note the website is in French ) but application dates are from 15 January to 30 April.
1) INE number : If you studied in France in 2009/2010 : enter your application with your INE number(which is indicated on your certificate of attendance) ? If you studied in another country in 2009/2010 : click on « saisir votre dossier social étudiant sans le n° INE » (an INE number will automatically be given at the end of your capture)
2) Password: create your own password.
3) « Scolarité actuelle » : if you studied in France in 2009/2010, you have to tell if you studied in a university or school depending on the Department of Education or on another department ; if you studied abroad, just click on « vous êtes scolarisé à l'étranger ».
4) Nationality : do not forget to enter your country of origin, then click on « autre situation ». Choice of your curriculum and residence You have the possibility to express 4 wishes maximum, in all the educational districts of France (=”académie”) : the wish is composed of a study will and of an accommodation will. It is possible to apply for several kinds of accommodation, for a single study will. If you are not sure of your curriculum, you will have the possibility to modify your wishes later. 5) « Vœu n°1 » page (map of France) : click on the appropriate area. If you wish to study in a university / school located in Nancy, in Metz, or in any town of Lorraine area, click on « Nancy-Metz ».
6) « Cursus envisagé pour votre scolarité » : select the diploma or level that you are likely to obtain / reach in 2010/2011.
7) « Liste des établissements » page : choose your university or school for 2010/2011.
8) Selection of hall of residence : we suggest you to apply for several residences or types of accommodation. At the end of your capture, click on « clôturer la liste des vœux ».

Confirmation of your application
VERY IMPORTANT: Do not forget to write down your file number and your password, and to click on “Enregistrer” at the bottom of the page, otherwise your application will not be taken into account !
After the data capture, you will receive an application form about 3 weeks after your data capture. After this time limit, if you do not have received the paper file, contact urgently the CROUS or the CLOUS in order to know if your application has been registered. As soon as you have received your application form, you must verify and if necessary correct on the paper file the information and enclose the required documents. INCOMPLETE FILES WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
At the end of June/the beginning of July 2010, you will receive a first answer to your application. You can refer to the follow-up of your application on our website www.crous-nancy-metz.fr (your INE number and your password will be required for consulting).

- Attestation de scolarité : Certificate of schooling or registration or pre-registration certificate delivered by the ICN.
- Your « long stay study » Visa ( or your visa )
- A scholarship certificate or income certificate ( to ensure you’ll receive money monthly to pay your rent )
Once in Nancy:
- A guarantor who vouch for you named in France « Caution Solidaire » (joint and several guarantee ) Most of the time, it’s the ICN who vouch for you, if not please contact the ICN or the globe and co team.
- Certificate housing insurance : thanks to the partnership between Globe and co and the BNP Paribas bank, you can suscribe to one. You need it before to enter your room.
