LEAVING NANCY
Two weeks before, you have to meet your bank adviser ( normally he gave you a business card with his phone or mail ) to let him know you’re leaving soon
Check if all the automatic cuts from your account ( phone, electricity, rent ) have been done.
Bring all your bank papers including your credit card
If you have some money left in your account, withdraw it before seeing your bank adviser.
In the same time you can cancel your house insurance with the paper “ letter de résiliation du contrat d’assurance avec accuse de reception” Fill it with your bank adviser.
This is really important : you have to notify the owner of you apartment, you’ll leave your flat 3 MONTHS BEFORE LEAVING. This process, called “Préavis” (Advance notice of departure of the accommodation) is compulsory . If you notify it one month late, he will make you pay one month more after you leave.

IMPORTANT : When you entered the flat you gave a guarantee deposit, the owner HAS TO give it back to you.
You have to do it one month before you leave. The terminationfee are free if you leaving for another country so you have to provide a proof such as a paper from ICN or flight Tickets.
